Stratford in the State Championship Playoff!

Stratford vs. Summerville  5 to 3 Win for the Knights → State Championship Playoff

Last night Stratford played two games against Summerville. The first game Summerville won 1-0. However, the Knights didn’t seem too worried about it. Their attitude remained light and festive. The second game started, and Stratford fell behind 2 – 0 in the 3rd inning. Summerville’s fan’s and families were going crazy in the stands. Our fans, on the other hand, sat quietly in the stands as if it were all over. As I walked around the ballpark, I even heard people talking as if we’d lost already.

Then the 6th inning rolled around; Stratford scored 4 runs in the top of the inning, and another run, for 5, in the top of the 7th. Summerville tried to rally and scored one run in the bottom of the 7th. Spencer Baldwin caught the last fly ball for the final play of the game to shut Summerville down for good.

Stratford begins the State playoff @ Byrnes High School, the Upper State champions, this coming Monday evening at 6:30 p.m.
